With a background in education, Csaba has spent his entire professional career in the environmental non-profit sector. Over the past 24 years, his roles have ranged from activism to executive leadership. In 2001, he was part of the founding team of Greenpeace Hungary. Until 2009, he contributed to and led several environmental campaigns (e.g. GMO-free Hungary, Energy [R]evolution, etc.) as a contributor, manager and leader. In 2006, he became the organisation’s country director.
Between 2009 and 2018, he worked at the Regional Environmental Center (REC) as a project manager and expert, leading and managing EU-funded projects on topics such as environmental information, smart cities and sustainable urban mobility (mainly under the CIVITAS Initiative).
Between 2018 and 2025, he served as the general secretary of CEEweb for Biodiversity, leading a team of more than 15 nature conservation specialists and overseeing project implementation, policy work and organisational development.
From 2020 to 2025, he served as president of the board of the HAND (Hungarian Association of NGOs for Development and Humanitarian Aid).
Currently, he work as a consultant in the position of CEE coordinator for the Clean Cities Campaign.
