Do you have an ability to think critically and strategically? Do you wish to contribute to creating more livable, sustainable and healthier cities? We’re currently seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our Clean Cities team. Requirements

The successful candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience working on issues in the transport, environmental or energy sectors, a research institution, advocacy/campaign organisation or similar and have the following skills:

  • Have a solid understanding of urban mobility and decision-making processes in cities and at the European level,
  • Relevant experience in EU level advocacy work, especially with the European Commission, the European Parliament or organisations representing civil society, cities and industry.

  • Strong writing proficiency with the ability to write compelling position papers and analytical reports for external publication in fluent, concise and accurate English. Any additional European language is a plus.
  • Data literacy and the capacity to creatively find solutions to complex research questions. Practical experience in analysing and interpreting data would be a plus.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (a high degree of self-awareness, the willingness to take feedback and to learn, and to act with humility and humbleness).
  • Strong oral communication skills, e.g. to present at meetings with policy makers and other stakeholders.
  • The confidence to think and act with initiative and to independently identify research opportunities that would clearly support the mission of Clean Cities at the European as well as at the local levels.
  • Project management experience and an ability to prioritise tasks and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • A personal commitment to sustainable transport and the aims of T&E and Clean Cities.

This is a full time position on a fixed term contract. A flexible working schedule can be discussed. The location of the position is Brussels. The position will involve regular travel in Europe.
