Most European capitals are grappling with a familiar mix of urban mobility pressures: congestion, strained public transport networks, affordability concerns, and the need to make everyday travel cleaner, safer and more reliable.
Meanwhile, new mobility options, like autonomous vehicles (or “robotaxis”), are on the horizon, set to arrive in European cities later this year.

Cities Speak: The Clean Cities Urban Mobility Barometer gives people a voice on key urban mobility issues. Residents across nine European capitals – Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, London, Rome, Madrid, Paris, Sofia, and Warsaw – shared opinions on their city’s mobility.

The representative survey was conducted online by OpinionWay between 13–25 November 2025, following ISO 20252 standards, and gathered responses from 8,418 adults across nine European capitals.
