help us find school streets!

We’re on a mission to find all of the school streets in Europe… and we need your help!

What is a school street?

School streets are accessible spaces around schools where walking and cycling are prioritised over motor vehicles by applying permanent or time-based access restrictions for motorised traffic, at least during drop-off and pick-up times.

They provide immediate health benefits for children by improving road safety and reducing air pollution around the school, where children spend a big part of their day, and encouraging families to switch from driving to walking, cycling or public transport.

Schemes that rely solely on traffic-calming measures, or that were not specifically designed to regulate motorised traffic around schools (e.g. general pedestrian zones), are not considered school streets for this purpose.

How can I get involved?

We’re asking anyone who knows of a school street in their area to submit details about it via the form below 👇

Clean Cities will use this data to populate a map highlighting as many of the school streets across Europe as we can!

FIND A SCHOOL STREET

This map is created through crowdsourced contributions from across Europe. While we aim to review all entries, not all school streets have been independently verified. We welcome updates and corrections to help keep the map as reliable as possible.  If you spot a mistake or have more up-to-date information, please get in touch: info@cleancitiescampaign.org. Thanks for being part of the project!
